This just landed in my box from the Edinburgh label CUT, the folks who released the first ESSAY
record (first that I heard anyway). It's garage/dubstep/drum&bass, but with the same chilled-out ambient vibes that mark their other fine releases such as Buck UK's ONCE EP or Sigmafly's Tetrachrome EP.

SHISA // NO MORALS Mixtape
Dirty-ass cheesy future-filth. Not usually my cup of tea, but this mix is undeniably fun and very well done, and the timing is perfect for this retro-appreciation of Miami Bass. It's a 10 as mixtapes go, just 24 minutes, but with whats seems like a dozen vintage electro-funk tracks. Shisa is a Philadelphia based artist who released two excellent shoegaze / noise pop / chillwave / witch house albums last year. Both Streetlight & (memory) are still available for free download.
